Wi-Fi QR Code Generator
Turn your Wi-Fi into a scannable QR code so guests join without typing a long password — built entirely in your browser, so nothing is ever uploaded.
Enter your network name and password to build the QR code.
Scan with a phone camera to join the network. Built entirely in your browser — nothing is uploaded.
A Wi-Fi QR code packs your network name, security type, and password into a single image that phones understand. When someone points their camera at it, the device reads the embedded WIFI: string and offers to join the network automatically — no spelling out a 20-character key over the dinner table. It is the friendliest way to share access on a guest network, in a café or short-term rental, or simply at home.
The strength of your network still comes from the password itself. A long, fully random Pre-Shared Key on a WPA2 or WPA3 network resists offline attacks against captured handshakes; the QR code just removes the friction of typing it. If you do not have a strong key yet, generate a 20-character one right here, then encode it.
Crucially, this generator builds the QR code locally with JavaScript in your browser. Your SSID and password are never transmitted to a server, logged, or stored — you can disconnect from the internet and it still works. Tools that render the image server-side necessarily receive your Wi-Fi password; this one never does.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I create a Wi-Fi QR code?
Enter your network name (SSID), choose the security type, and type or generate your password. A QR code appears instantly — download it as a PNG or show it on screen. Anyone scans it with their phone camera to join, with no typing required. Everything is built locally in your browser.
How do guests scan a Wi-Fi QR code?
On most modern phones, open the camera app and point it at the code; a “Join network” prompt appears. Some Android phones instead use the “Scan QR code” button in Wi-Fi settings, or Google Lens. No special app is needed on recent iOS or Android.
Is it safe to make a Wi-Fi QR code online?
With this tool, yes. The QR code is generated entirely in your browser using JavaScript — your network name and password are never sent to a server, logged, or stored. Avoid generators that build the image on a remote server, because those receive your password.
What security type should I choose?
Pick “WPA/WPA2/WPA3” for virtually all modern password-protected home and office networks. Use “WEP” only for legacy equipment, and “No password” for an open guest network. The QR code encodes this so phones connect with the correct settings.
Can I print the Wi-Fi QR code or put it on a card?
Yes. Download the PNG and print it, add it to a guest-room card, a café table tent, or a sticker near your router. Because it is a standard image it works in any document or label. Re-generate it whenever you change your Wi-Fi password.
